In Their Own Words

“This field (architecture) has always interested me and was the most artistic and creative professional pursuit available to me in Honduras. It is challenging and never the same from one day to the next. I look forward to seeing what new projects are on my plate and figuring out how to give the best service to my clients.”

Raúl Cardona Pendrey joined PerryCrabb as the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager in 2010. He is responsible for the setup, organization, update and maintenance of BIM projects, as well as the MEPF content library and the establishment and stewardship of firm-wide BIM Standards. This also encompasses support, mentorship and training in BIM for the firm’s staff.

Raúl grew up in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where he earned his Licenciatura Architectural Degree from The Universidad Jose Cecilio del Valle and began his career. Fluent in English and Spanish, he has been managing and coordinating CAD/BIM efforts for national and international projects in fields ranging from civil engineering and residential design to traditional neighborhood design and healthcare architecture since 1999. Raúl is a member of Colegio de Arquitectos de Honduras (Honduran equivalent to AIA and NCARB).

While at work with the oldest Autodesk Reseller Partner (2002-2003) Raúl was one of the very first individuals trained to teach and implement Revit in the Southeast. He has gone on to develop and execute firm-wide Revit implementations and custom trainings since 2005.

At PerryCrabb, Raúl is helping transform the firm’s multi-disciplinary design processes to a LEAN process through the use of BIM technologies. He is the author of the PerryCrabb’s BIM Execution Plan and is the firm’s key representative in the elaboration of BIM Execution Plans for large projects. Raúl is constantly improving inter-operability between BIM software programs and heads PerryCrabb’s BIM blog and is a presenter at the Revit Technology Conference.

On a Personal Note:

Raúl currently lives in Cumming, Georgia with his wife and two young daughters. He enjoys golf, movies and alternative music from the ’70s & ’80s during his free time. As a side note - Raúl put his love of music to work in the early ’90s by hosting a morning radio show on Estereomil in Tegucigalpa. Now that’s a well-rounded architect!
